Lindsey’s SENSATIONAL Bat Mitzvah

Lindsey’s SENSATIONAL Bat Mitzvah

Once upon a time I met Lindsey and it was instant BFAFS (Best Friends At First Site). Through kismet, the universe enabled our families to come together and I was able to capture Lindsey for her incredible fashion shoot and our team was able to document her absolutely “Lindsane” Bat Mitzvah!
Lindsey’s personality is “sensationally” unique. She is wise beyond her years, funnier than anyone her age can be, and owns a fashion shoot like nobody’s business. Spending time with Lindsey and her family is a honor – and personally, if you ask me, it’s kind of like going to the greatest comedy show in town. I just love them!
Jospeh St. Cyr of Joseph Todd Events, Nicola and their whole team created the framework for a fantastic experience which was “served” up in the “sweetest” way by Jennifer Gould who created an inCONEceivbly delicious ice cream room design at the venue Second which became the talk of the town.

However, family and guests barely kept their cool as the temperature of the party reached a boiling point straight out of the gate for a full-tilt rager that melted all the ice pops in the room! Here’s the collection of Lindsey’s unforgettable Bat Mitvah – Mazel Tov BFF – and happy new year to you and your family – “sensational!” :)

Danny B’s Wild BM at the Pierre

Danny B’s Wild BM at the Pierre

What happens at Danny B’s stays at Danny B’s! That was the phrase that set the theme in motion to become a wild party in NYC at the Pierre Hotel that reflected a classic night in Las Vegas. Danny is a super handsome basketball superstar – wrapped in a kind soul and he was absolutely ready to rock his Bar Mitzvah. We kicked off our time together creating portraits along the Hudson river which later became an incredible “Danny wall” at the party.

The heart and soul of his Bar Mitzvah was his tefillin practice and Torah reading at Park East Synagogue Thursday morning prior to the party. The intimacy, warmth and glow of the family were hard to describe in words. It was so special to be part of this service.

Danny deserved to celebrate big time – and his A-team rose to the occasion to deliver a truly unforgettable night!

Super Bowl of Bar Mitzvahs at Pier 60

Super Bowl of Bar Mitzvahs at Pier 60

Texas is the state where things are done in a big way. For example, The King Ranch in Texas is bigger than the entire state of Rhode Island. So as twin sons of their Texas native mom, Natalie, it’s no surprise that Benjamin and Brian celebrated their Bar Mitzvah with a super bowl sized weekend event in the heart of New York City.

When the boys were born, it was mom Natalie’s dream to host their Mitzvah weekend for family and friends steeped in Jewish tradition. Shabbat dinner was hosted at the beautiful Jewish Museum for out of town guests. Jennifer Gould designed the room with a nod to all the sports Benjamin and Brian love. See the super creative tablescapes in the photographs below.

Through the years Natalie and hubby Brett kept meticulous notes about how the event would unfold – especially when it came to food and food presentation. As you will see in these photographs, food takes center stage with Michael Scott orchestrating the symphony of delicious arrangements.

Benjamin and Brian’s Torah reading was celebrated with a luncheon at Cooper Hewitt’s gorgeous courtyard under a grand tent designed by Jennifer Gould that expanded upon her work the prior night. Soccer, tennis, hockey, baseball, golf, and football mixed seamlessly with the spectacular variety of food both passed and presented on long tables. Michael Scott’s team again delivered culinary magic.

Later that night, it was game-on! All guests arrived in their finest spectator chic attire, wearing jersey’s from their favorite sports teams. I personally donned my New Orleans Saint’s official NFL jersey and let me tell you there is nothing better than photographing an event wearing that sports team PRIDE! David Stark Design created a massive Game Day experience using the scope of Pier 60 and re-inventing what you would never expect from a space on the Hudson River. Larger than life french fries, hot sauce, red solo cups and more were on displays around the bar to delight guests. Hot dogs, pretzels and beer were served as “rah, rah, rah” anthems played over loudspeakers as guests entered “Barth Stadium.” Ali and Maya from Alimay Events brought it all together, conceptualizing every play and managing the creative talent on the team with a game-winning plan.

At the center of it all were Benjamin and Brian who brought their A-game to win the Bar Mitzvah superbowl title.

In the summer, we “kicked off” the experience together with an incredible pre-event photoshoot along the Hudson river to capture these two in their game-ready gear. Mazel Tov boys – it was an honor to create photographic art for your family on this unforgettable milestone.

Exploring Copenhagen & Mallorca

Exploring Copenhagen & Mallorca

Our 2018 summer-ending trip to Europe was a journey from Northern Europe to the South logging hours on bikes and the Rafael Nadal tennis academy courts under blue skies and scorching sun. My first visit to Copenhagen was in 1990 and that was on a shoe-string budget as a back-backer after graduating Tulane.

We returned to Copenhagen 30 years later with the family to enjoy the colorful architecture, youthful city, bike-friendly avenues and enchanting waterways.

Here’s a taste of the stunning Copenhagen city that we fell in love with and scroll down to the end of the visual essay to view the tour guide of locations, restaurants, phone numbers and web addresses to help guide your visit.

Copenhagen was recently voted happiest city in the world. Half the city gets around via bicycle, and that plays a role in the general good feelings of its citizens. The architecture is both colorful and extremely modern – yet its classical architecture still shines bright. Food and drink are integral to the Danish lifestyle – coffee shops, treats, craft beer and seafood are everywhere. Danish people treat themselves as part of their happiness project.

MALLORCA

Mallorca was just so charming and downright enchanting. We stayed in a Villa in the seaside village of Porto Cristo with many shops and cafes/restaurants on the water. The food was spectacular – seafood from right off the boat.

However the main event was experiencing the week training at the brand new Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy. Jonah training with Toni Nadal and I trained with Toni’s Spanish coaches.

The facility was state of the art, the cafe was stellar and featured open-air seating overlooking the main stadium court where top players train. I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you love tennis – get yourself to Mallora to train here.

The other bonus was the inspiration provided by Rafa Nadal. Touring his tennis museum, you see the staggering number of trophies he has won. Check out his statistics here – just mind blowing.

The mesmerizing Cuevas del Drach are located on the east coast of Majorca, specifically in the town of Porto Cristo. These caves are one of the island’s main tourist attractions, and are without doubt some of the most remarkable caves you will ever see. The caves contain a large underground lake, Lake Martel – feature a classical music performance on the underground lake. It’s spectacular.

We’d love to hear from you! Leave us a comment let us know if you’ve been to Mallorca or Copenhagen and tell us about it!

Lights Camera Remington! Oscar Themed Birthday Party at the Roxy Hotel

Lights Camera Remington! Oscar Themed Birthday Party at the Roxy Hotel

When it comes to creativity this party takes the cake. Remington celebrated her Oscar-themed red carpet 9th birthday party in style at the Roxy Hotel.

We kicked off the fun with a fashion shoot at the Roxy Hotel a few days before the party and decorated the room with billboards of Remington dressed to the “9’s”.

The Roxy Hotel was the perfect venue since they host the gorgeous Roxy Cinema in Tribeca which featured the film created by the pint-sized guests as part of the party fun.

Mom Tristana is the ultimate creative producer and goes to such great lengths to ensure every detail is perfect for the ultimate party experience.

I love documenting this family beyond! Hope you enjoy these unbelievably cute photographs!

With so much love for this true sunshine girl and her incredible family, I’m proud to share a few highlights from this epic night.
