When Sam made his grand entrance into the electrified Glen Oaks ballroom to Ozzy’s “Crazy Train” flanked by two Slash-looking rockin’ dancers, you knew this party was going to rock like a hurricane. The dance set that followed was a complete classic rock/dance hybrid with live guitar and violin.
The stage lighting (provided by More than Music) was one of the most exciting I’ve seen in a while (love the lights!!!)
Sam earned every right to celebrate as he had a masterful performance reading from the Torah just a few hours earlier in a moving Havdalah service. Mazel Tov to Sam and his wonderful family. This was one major celebration!

The Garden City Hotel was the spot last week for Renee’s classy, yet oh-so-sassy birthday party.
The room was ornately detailed, laced in pink, with sumptuous food and thumping beats thanks to Daniella Victoria’s team at Xtreme events.
However, there were surprises at every turn as visual eye candy entered the room to the delight of all the guests. The center of the show, however, was the love expression between Jan and Renee – a true sight to behold.

Sometimes when a really great headshot is captured, one version is just not enough. I had an idea for a quadtic color-toned image of my little superstar, JJ. Using the On One Toners in Lightroom gave me this really nice result.

What a day of details! Last week, we photographed an all-day affair at the impeccable Four Seasons Restaurant, followed by a sports party at the Chelsea Piers Field House and Sunset Terrace. Gourmet Advisory Services produced the elegant event with an amazing cast at Stone Kelly Floral & Events, Total Entertainment, Hank Lane, and Jennifer Gould of Diana Gould, LTD.

I loved this family portrait session from last week. Such beautiful kids who were having the most fun being with each other. We laughed and played as we explored Central Park at sunset. 4 and 5 year-olds are the cutest age. I’ve also said to my wife that I wanted to freeze them at 4. They are such cute little teddy bears. I couldn’t be happier with the results – enjoy.

Here’s a beautiful image of our dear friend Sophie taken as we were leaving Harvest Moon Farm and Apple Orchard. The sun backlit her hair and red blossom tree behind her just made for a gorgeous photo. Click here to see more fun photos from the day.

Jake’s basketball-themed Bar Mitzvah was a full-tilt celebration of family and friends. Not a single moment to catch your breath or you might have missed something. Jake’s impressive Torah reading during the Havdalah service set the tone for the evening. It was a beautiful service as the sun set on the Hudson River and the city lights came alive to create a magical setting for Jake and his family. The half-court basketball cage kept the boys jumping (thanks to Total Entertainment) and the glowing basketball-colored orange tables and room decor was a sight to behold, thanks to Jennifer Gould. Melissa Rosenbloom and her incredible team at Gourmet Advisory Services produced the event and the pacing was as fluid as a swiss timepiece. What a night – the energy in the room was over the top! Thank you to my team and to the event space team at Three Sixty°. Congratulations Jake!

THE EDGE ROCK BALL was a benefit concert for the Rock Asylum Foundation, a non-profit organization Paulie Z started a year ago that teaches elementary school students their academic curriculum through original rock music. Special Guests Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, Bumblefoot from Guns N’ Roses, Rob Affuso from Skid Row and others were in the house for an incredible night of music and education/awareness.

After wrapping a photo shoot on the Highline, we saw a bunch of craziness happening across the street on Pier 54. It was the final moments of David Blaine’s “Electrified” stunt. He was standing on this tiny perch for 3 days straight as 1 million volts of continuous electricity fired at him, Tesla style. I have to admit, it was all a bit bizarre. Since I had my gear on me, I captured this shot to document the event.
