Soulive Crushes Final Night of Bowlive IV at Brooklyn Bowl with George Porter Jr.
My “Magnificent Malta” blog post caught their attention and was recognized for the Award in the Photography category.
This was a personal project which blossomed out of my travel work, but it took on a life of it’s own after going viral last summer.
I’m so grateful these photographs were seen by so many. Everyone should add Malta to their bucket list!
I am thrilled to share the brand new feature in this month’s Rangefinder Magazine titled, “End of Innocence.” The five-page story written by Sarah Kinbar follows our work documenting “coming of age” milestones.
During the interview with Rangefinder, I was able to tell my perspective capturing the amazing Bar and Bat Mitzvahs here in New York City.
Additionally, Los Angeles photographer, Stacey Adams discusses what it’s like to photograph sweet 16’s and Arizona photographer David De Dios tell their unique story photographing Quinceaneras, a Latin-American ceremonial tradition honoring 15-year old girls’ coming of age. It’s a great story, please read it here, enjoy! I’m also thrilled to be in the same issue as one of my inspirations – Cliff Mautner – he is the cover story in this month’s wedding issue. Thank you Rangefinder!

Imagine if the sweetest of all souls was dipped in honey and then sprinkled with fairy dust and then reborn inside a little girl. That girl is Sara. She has a voice like an angel and sang from the Torah just like one too. Her little sister Emily was a dancing machine and everyone did their best just to keep up with her! Sara shared the love and energy with her friends and family on an unforgettable day. The event was produced by Ava Conoval and her great team at Shine Events and I’d also like to send a special thanks to Jason Kwintner at the JW Marriott Essex House for his super kind hospitality!
There’s magic and then there’s electro-magic! Alex brought the super-mega-uber-electro magic to the dance party last Saturday night at the Eventi Hotel. Nothing could stop her from bouncing and taking over the microphone, literally! I couldn’t be happier for her family – it was a fantastic night with incredible energy in the room – so much that I don’t remember seeing a single person sitting as the party had to finally end. Total Entertainment brought the beat, Gourmet Advisory produced the amazing event and Jennifer Gould designed elements for the purple party Mazel Tov Alex!
While it’s freezing cold in New York this winter, my thoughts are of warm sunsets in far-off distance lands. Here’s a few sunset gems I captured while in Cabo San Lucas, Portugal and Key West to keep you warm until Spring.
Sound City is the name of the new music documentary inspired by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. The film premiered recently at the Sundance film festival, and weaves a story around a recording console inside Sound City studios in California – the studio that gave birth to some of the best sounding records ever made – all they were all analog – no digital. Nirvana, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Grateful Dead, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, and so many more recorded legendary albums and the documentary seeks to tell the story of the heart and soul of that recording studio.
Dave Grohl invited fellow Sound City recording artists to play the soundtrack of the documentary. John Fogerty, Jessy Green, Chris Goss, Taylor Hawkins & the Coattail Riders, Stevie Nicks, Rick Nielson of Cheap Trick, Krist Novoselic of Nirvana, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rick Springfield, Lee Ving of the punk band Fear, Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine, and many more rocked the Hammerstein Ballroom for an amazing night of music in support of the new stellar documentary Sound City – WATCH IT!!!! Thank you Live Nation for bringing us this special show!
Thanks to the Hidden Track website for also publishing these photographs.

I am so excited to share these photographs taken today with my Edy Bear. We wandered through Central Park after last night’s blizzard Nemo with an infrared camera. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how they look – so cool! Enjoy the snow everyone in NYC!
It was a great night to get your boogie shoes on! My old school New Orleans krewe threw it down in anticipation of Mardi Gras – featuring The Meters Experience Leo Nocentelli, JB horn master Fred Wesley (played my wedding with Maceo Parker), Galactic drum slayer Stanton Moore, bass legend Bill Dickens and my good friend Mark Rechler of Circus Mind. It was an amazing night with old friends and amazing funky music! Enjoy all!
